French pianist Richard Clayderman announces shows in Tehran

TEHRAN, May. 07 (MNA) – Best-selling French pianist Richard Clayderman has confirmed, that for the first time ever, he will bring his New Age and Classical music to Tehran in Summer.

Accompanied by professional orchestra musicians, the 64-year-old pianist will hold two concerts on June 22 and 23 at the Interior Ministry Hall in downtown Tehran.

In his first ever performance in Iran, Clayderman is planning to surprise his Iranian audience by performing ‘Ey Iran’ on his piano. ‘Ey Iran’ is a popular patriotic song considered by many as the unofficial de facto national anthem of Iran.

Clayderman is known among his Iranian fans as the composer of ‘Ballade pour Adeline’, ‘Lettre A Ma Mere’, ‘My Way’ and ‘A comme amour’.

He has sold over 80 million records internationally, making him one of the best-selling French musicians in history.

His concert in Tehran follows the successful performances of award-winning Italian composer Ludovico Einaudi, Icelandic BAFTA-winning multi-instrumentalist composer Ólafur Arnalds, and German electronic band Schiller.

Tickets for Clayderman’s shows in Tehran will be available for online purchase from Tuesday, May 7.
